Books from NetGalley that I'm currently reading
Hidden in Memories
by Viveca Sten, Nov. 18, 2025
This has been one of my favorite thriller writers. Viveca Sten's novels are set in Sweden.
Inspectors Hanna and Daniel are knee deep in finding the killer of a hotel developer who was found stabbed in a luxury resort in the Swedish mountains. Did the locals disapproval of Charlote's plans to turn an idyllic location into a tourist spot play a part in her death? When a cleaning lady witness to the murder is found killed, the plot thickens.
I'm enjoying this thriller, as I have the author's other books.
Tout ce que j'aurais aimé te dire
by Gaby Fournel, June 2024
Two friends escape the rough past of Paris to open a cafeteria/library in a small town in the Basque village in Spain. Atmospheric and hopeful.
Stolen Secrets
by S.F. Baumgartner, June 2026
An FBI special agent must save her teenaged adopted daughter, Jamie Beth, who had turned herself in to kidnappers to save her look alike friend kidnapped in her stead.
What are you reading this week?
These sound like some good mysteries! I'm currently re-reading an oldie but a goodie for a book club: To Kill a Mockingbird. I'd forgotten so much of it.
ReplyDeleteI'm just about to start 'The Men of 1924 - Britain's First Labour Government' by Peter Clark. After a penguin booklet I'll then be reading 'Midnight at the Pera Palace - The Birth of Modern Istanbul' by Charles King.
ReplyDeleteHidden In Memories looks good! Hope you keep enjoying.
ReplyDeleteHope you have a great week!
ReplyDeleteGood luck at finishing these books for May. I'm impressed that you are reading the book in French. I wish my French were better and that I could read in French more easily.
ReplyDeleteThese sound good. I'll have to look for them.
ReplyDeleteThey all sound like intriguing mysteries, enjoy!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your week
These both sound intriguing. Not too many books set in Sweden or Spain that have been either translated to or written in English.
ReplyDeleteThe French book sounds good!
ReplyDeleteHave a great week!
Some of my favorite thrillers or mysteries take place in a desolate winter area
ReplyDeleteStolen Secrets sounds especially good. I have so many books from NetGalley that I feel guilty asking for more. Come see my week here. Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteA thriller in the swedish mountains sounds interesting!
ReplyDeleteThose look interesting! I'm so far behind on my NetGalley list. Ugh.
