  1. Death on the Grand Canal would definitely catch my eye's attention, but Chinese Parents Don't Say I Love You is a more interesting title.

  2. Book covers may attract me to a book but the synopsis is what determines if I’ll read it. The Valencia Ex Pat club is beautiful!

  3. I have most definitely picked books because of their covers...with mixed results, LOL!

  4. I've heard fun things about Definitely Maybe Not a Detective! Hope you enjoy.

For me, sometimes covers will grab my attention for sure, so it's part of what will make me read the blurb. But it's definitely not the only element.

  5. The title, the blurb, and the cover are what might initially attract me to a book. The covers on these are fantastic, and I love the titles, too. I'm especially curious about Definitely Maybe Not a Detective and The Valencia Expat Club.

  6. I am currently reading a stuffy old classic which probably started off with a paper jacket but that jacket it gone. It doesn't really bug me to read a plain, ugly book but I like your cover examples better!

  7. I definitely do. Some genres have a particular type of cover, and on NetGalley it's easier to see immediately what you'd be interested in.

  9. I do love covers. I'll check out one with an interesting cover, but after reading the synopsis, then I decide if I want it. Although there have been a few times when I couldn't resist a nice cover. I guess that's a maybe for me. The Monnin book really looks nice. Have a great week!

  13. I am definitely pulled in by covers, yes.

  14. Ten years ago I would have said I didn’t care because you don’t see covers much on the library shelf, I’d be attracted to the title and then read the blurb before looking at anything else. Covers definitely matter a lot more now though to attract my interest initially.

Wishing you a happy reading week

  15. Covers are about fourth on the list of why I choose a book. First is the author, second is the blurb, third for me is the title. I have a couple of the same books on my stack too. Come see my week here. Happy reading!

  16. I want the Candice Chung and June Patrick books for sure. In a store I typically will pick up a book if the cover attracts mt attention. Depends on the blurb about the plot if I buy it but I can be a real crow with pretty covers!

  17. Initially, I grab a book for its cover, Harvee. The blurb needs to capture me for me to buy it. Thanks for sharing these books with neat and colorful covers.

  19. I've been a cover snob since my mom got me my first book because it had a dog with a bird on it's head.
